Jason Coleman Joins ASA
Alicia Smith and Associates is delighted to welcome our newest team member, Jason Coleman. Mr. Coleman who most recently lived and worked in Sarasota, Florida, brings 12 years of experience in various facets of technology companies, including quality assurance, applications development, network and software architecture, product management, and customer service.
Mr. Coleman’s well rounded experience, and understanding of many aspects of business and technology will provide real value to our clients in analyzing new information systems and building new business processeses to improve efficiency and achieve program goals quickly and effectively.

Mr. Coleman will make significant contributions and introduce insight and perspective in actively building business solutions to turn data into intelligent management information and provide blueprints to meet business process and re-design goals on behalf of our clients. These contributions will allow the firm to meet our clients’ needs and expand our ability to assist in navigating health care technology challenges.

David Parrella Joins the Firm
Alicia Smith and Associates is pleased to announce the addition of David Parrella who joins the firm this August in the position of Senior Consultant. Mr. Parrella brings more than 20 years experience in the healthcare sector as the former Director of the Medical Care Administration and as Chairman of the National Association of State Medicaid Directors among many other professional achievements.
“We are excited to have David join the firm with his considerable expertise in the Medicaid arena. His insight and leadership in the health care field will be assets for the firm and its clients for years to come,” said Alicia Smith, AS&A Senior Partner.
Mr. Parrella is a 1972 graduate of Yale University and completed graduate study in anthropology at the University of Oregon and the University of Connecticut. Mr. Parrella has served on numerous national health policy forums and recently led the successful effort to impose a moratorium on several Medicaid regulatory changes proposed by the administration. In addition, he has been involved in delivering and developing healthcare programs for low income and minority populations, including Native Americans.
Mr. Parrella is married to Brenda Parrella, and has two children, Rosanna and Daniel, and two step-children, Samuel and Rose. Read more about Mr. Parrella
